This is great example of how most politicians, pundits, and voters usually make judgements based on party affiliation, not some "moral compass"(Democrats and Republicans alike). What's right and wrong is irrelevent as long as "their guy" is pulling the strings. It's the same kind of blind allegiance to a team you see in professional or college athletics.
